(c) Molar free energies at ambient pressure (ΔG0) for the N to I transition of hu PrP(121–230) calculated for individual residues assuming a slow exchange model. The mean value of ΔG0 (14.2 kJ/mol) is shown as solid line, the mean value plus/minus one standard deviation as dashed lines. Residues without a significant change in the signal volume are marked with #. O means, that the signal volume could not be determined due to heavy overlap of the peaks. P marks prolines, X other residues that are not visible or not assigned in the TROSY spectra.
