The black spheres depict the Cα crystal coordinates and the grey lines correspond to the normal mode displacement of these. The motion consists of a counter twisting of the small and large lobes of the protein kinase PDK1. In contrast, high energy modes of excitation are characterised by local fluctuations and low coherence. Modes 852 and 850 are illustrated below.
